COAX: The Colony Carnivale

✨ ARC Disclaimer ✨ Yes, this was an ARC. No, my standards didn't magically disappear. As always, these thoughts are completely my own. 🖤 Five. Fucking. Stars. This was gory, depraved, spicy, and absolutely amazing. S.B. Rouge did not disappoint. This instalment follows Judy and Gid, and can we please hear it for these two bisexual kings? 👏 I loved getting their story, and I actually think I enjoyed this one even more than the first. The pacing was fantastic, it picked up seamlessly from book one, and I flew through it. As someone whose favourite genre is spicy horror, this was exactly what I wanted. This is splatterpunk with plenty of spice, so if you have triggers, definitely check them before diving in. Or... if you're anything like me, throw caution to the wind and go in blind. 😅 So far this series is a 10/10, and I genuinely can't wait to see where it goes next. 5 ⭐

Well this one is just a mesh up of gore, cannibalism and substance abuse or elixir abuse if you'd prefer. The plot is like red headed step child. However, there is a little mystery in the background to keep the intrigue there when you get a smoke break from the🩸and 💦. I'm pretty sure Judy and Gid are Hannibal Lecter's bastard children. I'm not sure which Lecter, just yet, with the way they play with their food, but they also make it into bloody beautiful art. So conflicting. 2 down and 29 to go! "The air is thick with anticipation, and the promise of blood." "The look in her eyes says fight or fuck, or maybe both."

What in the holy heck did I just read! Gore, cannibalism, drugs and tons of s*x of all kinds. Brothers Judy & Gid are in charge of all the games and they do not disappoint, putting on one hell of a bloody show. Delirium abounds in the Colony Carnivale. Can you survive it?

Holy freaking hell!!! What did I just read!!! This series is EVERYTHING I wanted and Coax did not disappoint with this graphic horror! And that cliffhanger! Omg I need the next book ASAP!!! Gid and Judy give absolutely ZERO f**** about anything but making sure they put on an EPIC show! And my lawwwd EPIC is the exact word that comes to mind cause I’m still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor after finished this lovely book! 10/10 highly recommend! Make sure you check your trigger warnings this is a whole new level! 🤭 I cannot wait to read more from this author!!! “Welcome to The Colony Carnivale—where the fun never dies, it just screams louder.”

Second in The Colony Carnivale shared world 🎪 Welp! This one is just a clusterf^*k of gore, c@nnabilism and substance abuse with a dash of plot line thrown in…though NGL some of those elixirs sound quite appealing 😈😈😈 I can’t even begin to explain this one, it is what it is! SB has done a great job with her narrative ensuring you feel like you are there within those canvas walls and seeing it all happen firsthand. The brothers Gid & Judy are a show unto themselves in Delirium they shine (Mainly in 🩸 & 💦) but nonetheless a beautiful disaster. Another great addition to The Colony Carnivale. I greatly enjoyed getting to read more about Judy and Gid and what they do for The Colony. The writing in this was so easy to read and I just devoured this book. I can’t wait to read more about Judy and Gid, as they pop up, as I continue reading this series.

Coax, book 2 in the Colony Carnivale series, was quite something. After reading book 1, I thought maybe I had an idea of what I was getting myself into with this one… but I was very, very wrong. This book was so feral and completely unhinged that even I found myself gasping at some parts. And yet, somehow, I still absolutely loved it. I’m officially hooked and more than ready to continue my journey through the rest of this wild series. Bring on the chaos!
